ONA Marine recently completed an interesting job designing and building a total of 12 new subsea anchored hydrophone foundations forĀ mammal behaviour monitoring. At the request of a research client, Murdoch University we were able to design and build simple robust foundations for two types of InnovaSea Vemco acoustic telemetry devices. The anchors needed to be able to survive in water depths of 3 – 10 meters and be recoverable. Each was mounted with either a VR2AR or VR2W type transponders so the brackets were customised to enable quick and efficient connection and changeability.
All parts were developed using 3D modelling and produced in our workshop in record time. This was another great example of us developing bespoke solutions for the local research community including Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD)
