Case Study | Offshore Mooring Chain Inspection Campaign
ONA were contracted to deck, inspect and replace chain lengths as part of a subsea mooring system that included buoyed and swamp mooring legs.
ONA Marine with our containerized cleaning and inspection spread, mobilized an anchor handler and over the course of a week undertook cleaning and measurement of mooring chains. The campaign established the baseline corrosion, wear and stretch of mooring chains to assist future planning and integrity activities.
Outcome & Benefits
Our client was able to baseline the mooring chain integrity to reduce future inspection campaigns and associated costs. Deficient areas of chain were replaced, and the as built details reflected in the mooring management plan.
